Objectives

Assessment questionnaires are today the most used measurements in heath and social sciences to evaluate latent variables as physical inability, pain or altruism. However practitioners don’t often use well these instruments. What do they really measure? How must the results be interpreted? Such questions are approached by the training course of Psychometrics in Rehabilitation. It’s not about simple instructions for use of assessment questionnaires. Its principal objective is to provide to both researchers and practitioners, methodology basis necessary to develop such instrument and to interpret its results. After the explanation of objective measure basis expressed by the Rasch model, speakers respond to frequently asked questions: What are criteria of an objective measure? Can results be interpreted as quantitative results? How validate a assessment instrument? Is it possible to compare observed responses between different subgroups of subjects? During four week-ends oral presentations with a lot of practical examples and with exercises courses will explain methodology basis of quantitative evaluation using the Rasch model.
